RE: Why 6.5 Client ignores notes.ini Settings on Upgrade? ~Keiko Zeklukonygon 20.Jan.04 05:25 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.5Windows 2000
In most cases it´s in the Notes Program Directory, but I also tried to copy the notes.ini into the System Directory or into the "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\Application Settings\...\data" Directory before starting the upgrade. The notes.ini will be deleted from the Notes Programm Directory during upgrade. In other Places it remains untouched by the Installer but also ignored on the first Start of the Client.
All this happens even in a completely manual Upgrade. Also it doesn´t matter which Version was previously installed on the System (4.6x or 6.0x) or where the notes.ini was located before the Upgrade.
Copying the notes.ini prior to the upgrade and putting it back to the notes Directory after the Install Programm has finished causes an Error saying something like "Bookmark file not found" and Notes quits on Startup
We use german Windows 2000 clients and I´ve tried to install both german and english Notes Versions with the same Result.
